Draft 2014: Ducks First Round Pick, Nick Ritchie

Ducks 2014 first round

With the tenth overall selection in the 2014 NHL Entry Draft, the Anaheim Ducks selected Nick Ritchie from the Peterborough Petes of the Ontario Hockey League

Ritchie was ranked No. 6 by , No. 7 North American skater by NHL Central Scouting, and No. 10 by International Scouting Service

TSN’s director of scouting Craig Button said about Ritchie:

Blend of skill, power and size is second to none. Excellent shot that can overwhelm goalies. He has the capability of being brilliant yet is still growing as a player. Scary thought! He’s a man-child.

In the on going battle of the Pacific Division this will add to the Ducks size up front when Ritchie is NHL ready. Ritchie is listed at 6-2, 226 lbs.

The Hockey News said about Ritchie

If he achieves his potential, Ritchie projects as a Jamie Benn type, which is good
