Matt Greene on wine and the Olympic break

Comments from Matt Greene following Kings practice at Thursday…

JD:  Any reason you won’t be watching the Men’s game between Canada and the US on Friday?

MG:  Silly question.

JD:  You’re not watching the women’s gold medal game between Canada and the US…

MG:  Practicing, working, somebody’s got to earn a living around here.

JD:  Did you wake up early to watch any of the other men’s hockey games during the Olympics?

MG:  Nah, just caught the games online.

JD:  Did you enjoy your time off, anything interesting?

MG:  Nothing interesting

JD:  You’re lying

MG:  I don’t do anything interesting.

JD:  You’re lying again.

MG:  Just hung out with my wife and went to Northern California and Napa Valley.

JD:  You see, there is something interesting.

MG:  It’s not that interesting.

JD:  Favorite winery?

MG:  Caldwell, Landrey.

JD:  Did you check out Shramsberg?

MG:  That’s the sparkling wine.  We didn’t make it over there but I did here that is a great place to go.  We toured some great caves.  It was pretty cool.  It’s a good trip.  Good food.   My wife has been on me for five years to get up there.

JD:   Are you a big wine drinker?

MG:  I’m not.  My wife was definitely the driving force on this trip.  She enjoys pairing wines with food.

JD:   They say, happy wife, happy life

MG:  I’ve heard that.
