VIDEO: New LA Kings intro song – lyrics and live arena footage

We’ve had several requests from readers who were looking for audio or video of the Kings new intro music used at Staples Center on opening night. So, here are two different versions. First is a straight forward clip with the song and lyrics (not a music video). Then, the second clip was shot live inside the arena and gives you a sense of what people saw earlier this week before the Kings-Rangers game.

  1. Genghis John says:

Whoever made this the intro song needs to be fired

  2. I was really bummed about the loss of “This Is LA” as a theme song and “The Black Parade” as an intro song. was there some problem with the licensing or something? Because I honestly can’t see any other reason to replace what was working and getting the crowd amped with this.

  3. Horrible. I would hate to have to sit through that all season long. It’s extremely tacky and lame. Belongs in a soccer stadium not for hockey.

  4. Hate this freaking retarded song. But unfortunately they are slamming it down our throats.

  5. Crown Royal says:

I’m Gary Bettman and I both wrote and approved this song.

  6. I’ve been a fan of the Mayor’s website for a couple years now and I have never felt a need to reply to much but….. The new intro theme is horrendous! If I were an athlete taking the ice, court or field at my home site to that, I’d be embarrassed. At the same time, I’m not sad to see “I Love LA” go. It’s time to send it back to 1984 with the LA Olympics.

  7. I find I’m most annoyed by the lack of an apostrophe in the first video; I’m pretty sure they mean that a “King’s a King forever”. While I respect the effort, it doesn’t feel like a hockey anthem to me.

  8. Kate Willoughby says:

It’s awful. Bring back Black Parade.

  9. Blows

  10. This just sucks

  11. This song is beyond lame!

  12. THIS SONG TOTALLY SUCKS!!!!!!!! Bring This Is LA back please!!!!! GO Briggs Go!!!!!!!
