Raw post-game quotes from Dustin Penner

Raw locker room quotes from Ducks forward Dustin Penner…

On tonight’s game:

“They played very well and we played very poorly. There’s things that we could have done a lot differently. Obviously competing on the puck, making it a lot harder on their top guys to get grade-A scoring chances, making it easier for our goalies to make key saves.”

On how quickly he assimilated to the Ducks:

“It’s been a quick transition. Obviously I know quite a few people still in this organization, whether it’s team personnel or players. There is definitely a nostalgic feeling coming back.”

On if tonight was weird:

“Yeah, it was. You get used to seeing the same people everyday. It’s kind of like a divorce. You spend a lot of time with the same people everyday, getting to know them. They become like family, and then all of a sudden you’re gone. The routines and habits that you’d formed on that side with those guys is something you’ll probably never experience again.”

On if any of the Kings were chirping:

“Yeah. It’s a friendly rivalry now.”

On who was chirping at him:

“Dewey, Carts, Richie, Greener. Some of it was through text.”

On his first shift in tonight’s game:

“I don’t know the exact word to describe it but it’s kind of a deja vu feeling. You go hit a guy and it’s Doughty and it’s not in practice. It’s just a unique feeling. I guess you catch yourself reminiscing.”
