On the series:

“We’re going back home. Game 3 is going to be huge. We have to bounce back, and like I said, have a good start and just play with a lead back home.”

On what his line was able to accomplish tonight:

“Get pucks deep and play with the puck in their end. Make them work, make their goalie make saves and just get the puck to the net.”

On the play where the puck ricocheted off the glass:

“I was just a little late getting there. I couldn’t really make a move. So, the only thing I could do was chip it in. He came out and made the save.”

On what the Kings have been doing and/or need to do better:

“We were working well (in the first period), but I think we kind of got away from our game a little bit. We stopped getting it deep, turned it over a little bit and they just capitalized on their chances.”

On when he found out he’d be playing:

“I found out after warm-ups…I just came here ready to play and I guess Rick tested it out and wasn’t feeling well…Anybody would kill to be in my position. I just tried to take it and help this team win, but we came up a little short.”

On the goal late in the first period:

“It’s hard when you go down 2-0 (in a game). When you’re down 2-0 away on the road against a team like Chicago, it’s tough to come back.”
