MayorsManor First Goal Contest: Game 46 – Kings at Wild

When the Kings and Wild met in Los Angeles just a few weeks ago it looked like a possible first round playoff match-up.  However, due to the highly volatile nature of the Western Conference standings – and a slumping Minnesota team that has gone only 3-6-1 over their last 10 games – each side is now fighting for something different.

While Zach Parise, Ryan Suter and crew are simply trying to lock down a playoff spot, the Kings are working to secure the fourth seed and home-ice advantage.

And, per the norm, we have a First Goal Contest today for all the loyal MayorsManor readers.  If you’d like to step up and take a shot at winning, simply follow these three steps to enter…

STEP 1 – Some required reading:

Sutter impressed with what Doughty can do while less than 100%

Anze Kopitar: ‘Hopefully I’ll get a couple pretty soon too’

STEP 2Click here to check out all the cool stuff Hockey Soda Energy has to offer because they’re putting together a prize pack for the winner. Their full line of Hockey Energy products are designed to improve protein metabolism, reduce fatigue and appetite, plus sharpen perception.

STEP 3 – Place a comment below with the LAST NAME of the LA Kings player you think will score first vs. the Wild (one entry per person). We’ll pool all the correct entries and one person will be randomly selected to receive a free Hockey Soda Energy prize pack featuring a hockey puck and a 4-pack of Hockey Energy Soda (must be 16 years of age or older).

To get you started, here are the line combinations and D-pairings that coach Darryl Sutter is expected to use:

Dustin Brown – Anze Kopitar – Justin Williams

Dustin Penner – Mike Richards – Jeff Carter

Dwight King – Jarret Stoll – Trevor Lewis

Kyle Clifford – Brad Richardson – Jordan Nolan

Robyn Regehr – Drew Doughty

Rob Scuderi – Slava Voynov

Jake Muzzin – Matt Greene

Healthy Scratches: Keaton Ellerby, Colin Fraser and Alec Martinez

Goaltender Jonathan Bernier is expected to get the start in net for LA, while Minnesota will counter with Niklas Backstrom.

Good luck in the contest!
