According to the Ducks’ twitter feed, they’re giving out thundersticks at their team store for fans traveling to Staples Center to take in tonight’s game with the Kings. That should be…well, interesting.
At the very least, there are several other storylines heading into the match-up. For example, this could be Teemu Selanne‘s final game played in downtown LA. Also, can the Kings find a way to beat the Ducks, something they’ve only done once in three previous tries this season. And what about the goaltending – Jonathan Quick earned what coach Darryl Sutter called a ‘good win for his psyche’ in his last start on Thursday. Can he come up big again tonight?
All of that, plus you could win a nice prize just for guessing who will score first for the Kings.
As part of our push to the playoffs here on MayorsManor we’re running a contest where one lucky winner will receive a free Fathead of their choice from the LA Kings Stanley Cup collection. Each correct entry in the First Goal Contests run on April 4, 6, 11, 13, 18, 21 and 27 (i.e. the Kings’ seven home games in April) will be pooled together and one randomly selected person will be announced as the overall winner.
Entering the contest is extremely easy, just follow these three simple steps…
STEP 1 – Some required reading related to the two teams:
STEP 2 – Click HERE here to see the prize you could win. Go ahead, pick it out ahead of time. Do you know which Fathead you would claim as your own? When you do, you’re ready to move on.
STEP 3 – Place a comment below with the LAST NAME of the LA Kings player you think will score first vs. the Ducks (one entry per person, per Kings game played).
To get you started, here are the line combinations and D-pairings that coach Darryl Sutter is expected to use:
Dustin Brown – Anze Kopitar – Justin Williams
Dustin Penner – Mike Richards – Jeff Carter
Dwight King – Jarret Stoll – Trevor Lewis
Kyle Clifford – Brad Richardson – Jordan Nolan
Rob Scuderi – Slava Voynov
Jake Muzzin – Keaton Ellerby
Healthy Scratches: Colin Fraser, Alec Martinez and Tyler Toffoli
In net, Jonathan Quick will get the start for LA and Anaheim will counter with NHL rookie Viktor Fasth.
Good luck in the contest!
