MayorsManor First Goal Contest: Game 37 – Wild at Kings

fathead contest LA Kings MayorsManor
Believe it or not, the final month of the NHL’s regular season is already here. Due to the lockout shortened season, there’s just a few weeks left for teams to secure their post-season spot. Entering play tonight, the re-tooled Minnesota Wild are leading the Northwest Division, while the Kings sit sixth in the Western Conference. Thus, if the playoffs started today, these two teams would be playing each other.

To kick off the final seven home games of the year we have an all new contest, where one lucky winner will receive a free Fathead of their choice from the LA Kings Stanley Cup collection.  Each correct entry in the First Goal Contests run on April 4, 6, 11, 13, 18, 21 and 27 will be pooled together and one randomly selected person will be announced as the overall winner.  That’s right, you could have seven entries if you’re a really good guesser!

Entering the contest is easy enough, just follow these three simple steps…

STEP 1 – Some required reading:

STEP 2 – Click HERE here to see the prize you could win.  Go ahead, pick it out ahead of time. Do you know which Fathead you would claim as your own? When you do, you’re ready to move on.

STEP 3 – Place a comment below with the LAST NAME of the LA Kings player you think will score first vs. the Wild (one entry per person, per Kings game played).

To get you started, here are the line combinations and D-pairings that coach Darryl Sutter is expected to use:

FORWARDS

Dustin Brown – Anze Kopitar – Justin Williams

Kyle Clifford – Mike Richards – Jeff Carter

Brad Richardson – Jarret Stoll – Trevor Lewis * (see note below)

Dwight King – Colin Fraser – Jordan Nolan

DEFENSE

Jake Muzzin – Drew Doughty

Rob Scuderi – Slava Voynov

Robyn Regehr – Keaton Ellerby

Healthy Scratches: Alec Martinez and one of Fraser, Richardson or Tyler Toffoli (also, Dustin Penner is on IR)

Based upon who was first off the ice at the morning skate, Jonathan Bernier will likely get the start in net.

For the Wild, they’ll add Jason Pominville and rookie Mikael Granlund to their line-up tonight, but will be without Dany Heatley. Niklas Backstrom will likely be in goal.

Good luck in the contest!
