Coming off a win in their home building on Thursday night, the Sharks will be at Staples Center tonight to take on the defending Stanley Cup champion LA Kings. Better yet, you could win a giant Fathead for your wall if you can correctly guess who will score first tonight for the Kings.
That’s right, a giant 6-foot tall Dustin Brown, Drew Doughty or Mike Richards could be your just by entering today’s contest.
Choose any Kings player you want – for any reason you can come up with – it doesn’t really matter. Maybe you like Jeff Carter because all he does is score. Perhaps you want to ride the hot hand of Dustin Brown, who has five goals in his last three games. It’s possible Mike Richards is your guy. That’s fine too.
There’s always Anze Kopitar lurking in the background too. The only thing he’s done is lead the Kings in points since arriving in LA more than five seasons ago.
Drew Doughty? Well, he has to get rid of that zero in the goal column at some point. Is tonight the night?
It’s your choice!
So, how do you play?
STEP 1 – Click HERE here to see the prize you could win. Pick it out ahead of time. Do you know which Fathead you would claim as your own? When you do, you’re ready to move on…
STEP 2 – Place a comment below with the LAST NAME of the LA Kings player you think will score first vs. the Sharks (one entry per person).
We will then pool all entries who correctly predict the First Goal in any of four contests – last Thursday vs. San Jose, tonight vs. San Jose, Monday vs. Phoenix and Tuesday vs. Phoenix. From that master group, one person will be randomly selected to receive a free LA Kings Fathead of their choice.
Now, here are the line combinations and defensive pairings that coach Darryl Sutter is expected to use:
Dustin Brown – Anze Kopitar – Justin Williams
Mike Richards – Jeff Carter – Tyler Toffoli
Dwight King – Jarret Stoll – Trevor Lewis
Kyle Clifford – Colin Fraser – Dustin Penner
NOTE: Toffoli will play tonight (as discussed here) and Jordan Nolan will sit. Penner will play wing on the fourth line.
Jake Muzzin – Drew Doughty
Rob Scuderi – Slava Voynov
Alec Martinez – Keaton Ellerby
Healthy Scratches: Davis Drewiske, Jordan Nolan and Brad Richardson.
Based upon the skate that just concluded at TSC, it looks Jonathan Bernier will get the start. But, you know the drill. This isn’t baseball.
Good luck in the contest!
