Thursday am notes – injury updates, Kings’ line combos, etc

Kings’ practice is now underway at TSC. Here here are a few key notes this morning…

– Defenseman Alec Martinez was officially placed on IR yesterday afternoon and rookie Andrew Campbell was recalled from Manchester (AHL) to take his roster spot. Coach Darryl Sutter was non-commital yesterday when asked if he or Jake Muzzin would get the start on Friday vs. the Blue Jackets.

– Sutter also said he hadn’t decided on a goaltender yet for the game with the Blue Jackets, so it will be interesting to see if he tips his hand at all today.

– Perhaps in response to Sutter’s ‘historical’ comments about Willie Mitchell yesterday, Mitchell provided the following update late last night via twitter:

– Keaton Ellerby is trying to catch up as quickly as possible (and Drew Doughty is helping him off the ice). Read more of what’s been going on in the last 48 hours here.

– The line combinations look fairly set for tomorrow night. This is how they were paired up today:

FORWARDS

Simon Gagne – Anze Kopitar – Dustin Brown

Kyle Clifford – Jeff Carter – Justin Williams

Dwight King – Mike Richards – Jordan Nolan

Dustin Penner – Jarret Stoll – Trevor Lewis

Colin Fraser and Brad Richardson (extra skaters)

DEFENSE

Keaton Ellerby – Drew Doughty

Rob Scuderi – Slava Voynov

Jake Muzzin – Davis Drewiske – Andrew Campbell

We’ll provide live updates via twitter today. So be sure to follow along.

Looks about the same as the game against the Blues. Lets hope they can bring the same energy as before.
