MayorsManor Live Radio – Blue Jackets at Kings preview with Aaron Portzline

There’s no reason to try and over-hype a Blue Jackets v Kings tilt as a big rivalry game – after all, they don’t play in the same division, nor have they ever met in the playoffs.  Yet, at the very least there’s some bitterness developing on both sides.

Columbus continues their fight for respect in the NHL. And despite Jack Johnson saying it’s ‘just another game,’ Jeff Carter admitted yesterday that isn’t the case.  Plus, the Brandon Dubinsky and Mike Richards feud from the Eastern Conference has now spilled over to this series (especially after Rob Scuderi received a questionable hit in their last match-up), and don’t forget the whole clock controversy near the end of a game at Staples Center last season.

On today’s show we’re joined by Aaron Portzline of the Columbus Dispatch to talk about all of this and much more. He’s covered the Blue Jackets since their inception and he’ll help us preview tonight’s game. Part of the discussion will cover the major changes that took place in the Blue Jackets’ front office earlier this week, we’ll get to the bottom of Johnson and James Wisniewski calling themselves ‘Controlled Chaos’, hear about Portzline’s travel woes, touch on expansion, review several bad jersey designs, explain how Judas Priest factors into this week’s news, explore if they’ll fire their coach, touch on professional wrestling and a myriad of other topics – yes, that includes Carter too.

It’s another jam packed show. You’ll become smarter for listening and have plenty of laughs along the way. So, enjoy…
