MayorsManor First Goal Contest: Game 7 – Kings at Ducks

Anze Kopitar scored his first NHL goal in Anaheim against the Ducks on October 6, 2006. Since then, he’s posted 14 more goals in another 35 match-ups with the Ducks.

Jeff Carter, LA’s leading goal scorer at the moment, recorded his first two goals as a King vs. the Ducks last March.

And team captain Dustin Brown, who scored his first goal of the season on Thursday night, will be playing in his 50th game vs. the Ducks – tops among all NHL teams he’s faced.

But, will any of them score the first goal tonight?

For anybody new to the scene here, this contest is simple. Place a comment below with the LAST NAME of the LA Kings player you think will score first vs. the Ducks (one entry per person). We’ll take all of the correct entries and pool them together. From that group, one random winner will get a prize.

Today you’re playing for the t-shirt to the left. It comes to us from longtime MayorsManor sponsor – they have a full selection of hats, shirts and sweatshirts. So, after you enter the MayorsManor First Goal Contest, be sure to head over to their site and check out all the good stuff they offer.

Now, to help you with your selection/entry/guess, these are the expected line combinations LA coach Darryl Sutter will be starting the game with…

Dustin Brown – Anze Kopitar – Justin Williams

Dustin Penner – Mike Richards – Jeff Carter

Simon Gagne – Jarret Stoll – Trevor Lewis

Kyle Clifford – Colin Fraser – Jordan Nolan

If you like defenseman, they’ll be paired up like this…

Rob Scuderi – Drew Doughty

Alec Martinez – Slava Voynov

Davis Drewiske – Jake Muzzin

Healthy Scratches: Andrew Bodnarchuk, Dwight King and Brad Richardson

For some Kings-Ducks  pregame primers, be sure to check out today’s MayorsManor Live show with Josh Brewster. He helps us break down the keys to the game and we discuss a few players who might be traded out of Southern California soon.  The audio is streaming here…and we also have some notes and quotes here from Brown, Carter, Nolan and coach Sutter.

Good luck!
