MayorsManor First Goal Contest: Game 17 – Ducks at Kings

Later tonight at Staples Center the Kings and Ducks will meet up for the second time this season. Last time was a wild affair, where Jonathan Bernier was thrust into action, replacing Jonathan Quick early in the first period.  LA went on to lose that game by a final score of 7-4 and also dropped two of their next three games.  Since then though, they’ve played much better hockey, winning five of their last six games overall.

Anaheim has been a roll of their own too, winning six straight and 10 of their last 11.  But, as usual, when these two teams square off you can throw out the records and stats.  They don’t like each other very much and both sides have talked about using tonight’s game as a measuring stick for where they stand at this point of the season.

So, who wants to win a prize?

Full line combinations are listed below. But first, the contest details – simply place a comment below with the LAST NAME of the LA Kings player you think will score first vs. the Ducks tonight (one entry per person). We’ll take all of the correct entries and pool them together. From that group, one random winner will win a $20 gift certificate to the Redondo Beach Cafe – Southern California’s all hockey restaurant. If you haven’t been there to watch a game, click here for more info and get down there soon. They also have lots of great hockey memorabilia on the walls.

Now, to help you with your entry/guess, here are the line combinations coach Darryl Sutter is expected to use…

Dustin Brown – Anze Kopitar – Justin Williams

Trevor Lewis – Mike Richards – Jeff Carter

Dustin Penner – Jarret Stoll – Dwight King

Kyle Clifford – Colin Fraser – Jordan Nolan

Keaton Ellerby – Drew Doughty

Rob Scuderi – Slava Voynov

Davis Drewiske – Jake Muzzin

Healthy Scratches: Andrew Campbell, Simon Gagne and Brad Richardson

Jonathan Quick is expected to start for the Kings.

Good luck in the contest!
