MayorsManor First Goal Contest: Game 11 – Kings at Blues

He’s back – after sitting out the last three Kings games, coach Darryl Sutter is expected to give Dustin Penner another start tonight.

In three games this season, the 6-foot-4 left wing has averaged about 11 minutes of ice time, but has yet to record a shot on goal or point.

However, in four post-season games vs. St. Louis last year, Penner produced a goal and four assists.  He also had a great response when asked about Blues’ forward TJ Oshie during a round of Word Association last summer (link).

With a goal in Sunday’s loss to the Red Wings, Anze Kopitar has now tied Jeff Carter for the Kings’ goal scoring lead – four each.  At six points on the season, he’s also knotted with Kyle Clifford for the overall points lead too.

Sutter is expected to start the game with the following line combinations:

Simon Gagne – Anze Kopitar – Dustin Brown

Kyle Clifford – Jeff Carter – Justin Williams

Dwight King – Mike Richards – Jordan Nolan

Dustin Penner – Jarret Stoll – Trevor Lewis

On defense they’ll pair up as follows:

Keaton Ellerby – Drew Doughty

Rob Scuderi – Slava Voynov

Alec Martinez – Davis Drewiske

Leaving es Colin Fraser, Jake Muzzin and Brad Richardson as the healthy scratches.

Now we want to know who you think will score the first goal. Guess correctly and you could win a prize.

It’s simple enough to enter too – just place a comment below with the LAST NAME of the LA Kings player you think will score first vs. the Blues (one entry per person). We’ll take all of the correct entries and pool them together. From that group, one random winner will be sent a t-shirt from RefYouSuck.com (shown above).

They have a full selection of hats, shirts and sweatshirts. So, after you enter the MayorsManor First Goal Contest, be sure to head over to their site and check out some of the items available for hockey fans.

Good luck!
