MayorsManor show – special live airing during Monarchs game

The Manchester Monarchs came roaring out of the gates, opening the 2012-13 AHL season with a 5-1 record in October and outscoring their opponents 23-11. It’s a little bit of a mystery what’s happened since.

Two shutout losses in a row didn’t set a good tone for the start of November. Then, over the next three games, Manchester picked up two wins and it looked like the tide was starting to settle. However, they’ve now lost three in a row by a combined score of 11-3. Thus, they need a win tonight over Portland.

When the two teams last met on October 20, rookie Tanner Pearson (Kings 2012 first round draft pick) scored two goals – plus additional markers by Andrei Loktionov, Tyler Toffoli, Linden Vey and Slava Voynov – helping the Monarchs to a 6-4 victory over the Pirates.

There will be at least one line-up change for Manchester tonight, as Nikolay Prokhorkin left the team last Wednesday. More on that story here.

Kings 2009 draft pick Brandon Kozun continues to pace the team with five goals and 13 points. He’s spent the majority of time this season playing on a line with Dwight King and Loktionov.

We’ll have the full line combinations and much more on a live edition of the MayorsManor show during tonight’s Manchester v Portland game. We’ll break down all the action from the ice – as well as talk about a myriad of prospects in the Kings organization.

Some of the topics we’ll cover include:

* Jake Muzzin vs. Nick Deslauriers vs. Thomas Hickey on defense

* The emergence of Andy Andreoff

* What’s going on with Prokhorkin?

* Is Martin Jones the real deal in net?

* Derek Forbort, Michael Mersch, Nick Shore and a handful of the Kings top college prospects

This special edition of the MayorsManor show will be broadcast on LetMeHearYa.com – simply click here to listen to the show live at 4pm PST.  Joining us for the discussion will be Scott Coffman, radio producer of The Fourth Period Live (a weekend program on NHL Radio).
