Yes – that’s half the answer to the question

Yes, I’m interested in filling the vacancy created by Rich Hammond’s departure from the LA Kings.

Within minutes of the story breaking late Tuesday night, my cell phone and inbox began going crazy.  Since then, I’ve been inundated by fans, players, media members, etc. Everybody’s been asking if I’m interested. So, I wanted to take a moment and say thank you to all who have reached out and offered their support. The response from Kings fans has been tremendous – including Mike Zampelli from Let’sGoKings, the guys at Kingscast posting this video, Bobby Scribe’s sermon and even good ‘ol Matt Barry chiming in as well. Of course, I could never personally thank all the great friends, media members and readers of MayorsManor who have sent over personal text messages, emails and phone calls as well.

As for the other question – Am I getting the job? – that’s something that likely won’t be known for several weeks, if not longer. From my understanding, the Kings will go through a formal interview and hiring process over the next few weeks. And where that leads is undetermined at this time. Of course, I believe I’m the guy for the job and will do my best to convince the Kings of such.

In the meantime, MayorsManor will continue to give you what you really want – great hockey content, be it written articles, free radio shows or video interviews. We’ll have up to date info on the handful of Kings players signed overseas, the team’s prospects in Manchester and all the action here in SoCal with the Ontario Reign.

The best possible announcement this fall would be an agreement between the NHL and NHLPA. Let’s hope the second best news to hit the web will involve a certain somebody being hired by the LA Kings.

Thanks again for all the support!

Finally, this is a brilliant video put together by Rich and the guys at Kings Vision…

  1. Mayor,
Would you do the job if it meant there were occasional instances of interference/censorship/whateveryouwannacallit like there clearly was at times with Hammond? You don’t seem like that type of guy.

  2. Meg Jarrell says:

Good luck my friend! I can’t think of a better candidate for the job!
