Kopitar channels his inner Peter Forsberg with latest goal overseas

Locked out LA Kings center Anze Kopitar scored his second goal in Sweden during yesterday’s 5-3 loss to Orebro. It was his second goal and seventh point since signing on to play with Mora IK and his younger brother Gasper. As you’ll hear in the interview following the clip, it was the same move he tried (unsuccesfully) during the shootout in the previous game.

In Sweden that’s usually referred to as a ‘Forsberg style’ goal, in honor of the similar move Peter Forsberg made in the 1994 Olympics. Here’s video of the original goal followed by Kopitar trying the same thing vs. Boston’s Tim Thomas in 2010…

Full Mora vs Orebro highlights, including a goal by former King Jared Aulin

The Kopitar brothers will back in action on Sunday vs. Karlskrona HK.
