Marty McSorley on lockout and what NHLPA should be asking for

We had a chance to catch up with former NHL defenseman Marty McSorley recently. For the second year in a row he was a guest at Jim Fox’s Sunset Sip event. While the main focus of the night was on wine tasting and raising awareness for mental health, discussion of the NHL lockout was omnipresent among the sold out crowd.

McSorley, a former NHLPA rep during negotiations with the league in the early ’90s, shared some of his thoughts and ideas with us…

To see what Fox – another former player rep – thinks about the lockout click here.

Also, if you missed it, be sure to check out yesterday’s MayorsManor radio here. Our special guest was new LA Kings assistant coach Davis Payne. It was a fascinating conversation, covering topics like – Dustin Penner blackmailing him, his relationship with Bill Ranford, interviewing at Darryl Sutter’s ranch in Alberta, playing at the old Forum in Inglewood, the lockout and much more.
